As you might have seen, Manchester City are currently in a battle with Real Madrid regarding the possible signing of Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian star is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, but his next destination remains uncertain, with both Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti expected to go head to head to convince him to sign for their respective teams.

While many in Spain believe Haaland would prefer a move to the La Liga giants, they aren’t in the lead at this very moment, Manchester City are.

That’s according to Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger, who took to social media on Tuesday to explain where the situation currently stands.

He explains Haaland has ‘not yet made a final decision’, but ‘Manchester City have made the best proposal so far’.

Real Madrid, down their end, ‘are still in the race thinking of matching the City offer’, but their local rivals, Barcelona, are ‘as good as out’.

While no decision has been taken, Berger says ‘it’s getting in the crunch time now’, with Haaland and his team expected to ‘decide soon’ on what his next move will be.
