Croatian newspaper 24Sata are getting a little over-excited about Manchester United signing Mario Mandzukic.
They’ve convinced themselves Massimiliano Allegri is set to take over at Old Trafford soon, and his first recruit will be the striker.
It’s explained Mandzukic’s ‘golden days’ at Juventus were over when the manager left the club and was replaced by Maurizio Sarri.
Allegri has again spoke positively about the footballer over the past week, and that’s led to 24Sata coming to the conclusion that Mandzukic will be on his way to Manchester United soon after the Italian takes over.
They don’t put an if on Allegri joining, because that may dampen the excitement.
In reality, Mandzukic himself may have a better chance of joining the Premier League club than the manager. Juventus want him out, United need a striker, and the potential transfer is being continually talked up by the Italian media.
However, it may not be quite as close as 24Sata clearly want it to be.
