Hugely impressing since his £7.2m summer transfer from Ajax, Sven Botman is a wanted man.

It’s not even a secret these days, and there have even been claims a deal between Lille, the player and a big European club had already been agreed, only for that to be quickly dismissed by almost all involved parties.

The latest club named appears to have been Tottenham, with France Football looking at the situation on Monday.

With Spurs in need of a new centre-back at some point, that José Mourinho would be interested in Botman isn’t that far fetched, but when it comes to an agreement, the answer is ‘crazy’ and ‘fake news’.

That’s what the French magazine state was being sent left, right and centre by the player’s representatives to those questioning them about said deal as they were ‘taken aback’ when their phones blew up.

They know full well that at the rate their client is going, ‘offers will be the same, if not better, in the spring’, so agreeing now to a move would be near nonsensical.

So that’s the situation between Botman and Tottenham, in case you were wondering.
