Manchester City star Erling Haaland this week gave quite a long interview to ESPN Brasil.
In the conversation with journalist Renato Senise, he was asked about last weekend’s match against Manchester United, where he missed a sitter.
Haaland now admitted he’s feeling bad after missing such a big chance, claiming he needs to look forward to not make that kind of mistake again.
“Of course I blame myself. Only I know what I’m feeling, I feel awful. It’s not a good feeling. But again, what can you do? You can’t go back in time and change. You have to think about the next one. Then you have to clear your mind and focus on the next step. You can do something about it.”
Haaland also talked about his next objectives, quizzed about where he seems himself in ten years.
“I want to win more titles. What we did last season was incredible. The whole feeling was unreal. So, of course, I want to win more trophies and celebrate with my teammates.”
Haaland continues in fantastic form since joining Manchester City on a €60m deal from Borussia Dortmund in 2022. This season, he already has 29 goals and six assists in 32 appearances, and is currently top scorer in the Premier League and Champions League.
Following last year’s treble, Pep Guardiola side continue in the hunt for a new one. They already got qualification for the Champions League’s quarter-final this week. Now they face Liverpool in the Premier League, with the possibility of taking over the top of the table, and they then play Newcastle United in the FA Cup’s quarter-final the other weekend.
