The Argentinian FA are ‘working flat out’ to try and convince Brighton and Hove Albion to release Facundo Buonanotte for the upcoming U-20 World Cup.
That’s according to Doble Amarilla, who say that so far, the Seagulls, particularly Roberto De Zerbi, are refusing to release the player for the tournament.
Yesterday we covered a report that stated similar, with that explaining it would be very complicated for Buonanotte to join Javier Mascherano’s group for the tournament as Brighton weren’t keen on it.
Doble Amarilla pick up on that and explain that Mascherano had been in England this week for talks to try and convince Brighton and other English clubs into releasing their players.
While there was minimal success elsewhere, the situation is ‘even more complicated’ with Buonanotte and Brighton as neither their management nor De Zerbi ‘want to know anything’ about letting the youngster joining his country.
Despite their defeat to Manchester United they still have a chance of qualifying for Europe and want a full squad at their disposal, thus the refusal to release Buonanotte.
The AFA are ‘working flat out’ to try and change their stance and ‘reach an agreement’ about the player so Mascherano can have as strong a squad as possible for the tournament.
