Former Roma and Italy forward Roberto Pruzzo has questioned why Graziano Pelle took the decision to join Shandong Luneng. Yesterday Pelle joined the Chinese side from Southampton for £13m.

Speaking to TMW, Puzzo was asked about Italian players moving in this transfer window, including Pelle. Puzzo said he couldn’t care less about Pelle’s choice, but believes he should give half his wages to Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

“I could not care less about Pelle’s step to China, but I think he should divide the money he earns with Antonio Conte,” said the former Italy international.

Conte has been a huge influence in Pelle’s rise in international football after the Chelsea manager gave his debut for the national team. Under the guidance of Conte, Pelle has established himself as Italy’s No.1 forward, and was one of the standout players for his country during the Euros.

Pelle has come under fire in Italy for heading to China despite the attentions of other clubs. The forward was linked with a move back to his home country, whilst there were claims Chelsea were showing an interest.
