One of the more surprising success stories from the loans Leeds United granted last year was that of Elia Caprile.
The young goalkeeper was sent by the Elland Road side to Pro Patria in Serie C, where he excelled, helping them reach a tidy 11th spot in the league.
His performances were such that when he found himself returning to Leeds, other clubs started taking an interest, including Bari in Serie B.
That’s where he ended up being sold, and he’s started the season very well, to such an extent that some are already lauding the decision to sign him from Jesse Marsch’s side.
In fact, they dedicate a specific section to the former Leeds man, recalling that he ‘cost practically nothing to Bari, if not a small percentage of a future sale to be sent to Leeds, who were the owners of his contract’.
Perhaps there will be some regret down the line from Elland Road to not have pushed for a bit more, but you can never predict the future, can you?
