On Thursday, we covered a story from Calcio Mercato about Lazio’s efforts to sign Manolo Gabbiadini from Southampton in the January window.

The outlet claimed the Saints have set their demands to let the player go from the club, which would be €2/3m for a loan and then a redemption fee of €13m.

But as SampNews24 reports Sampdoria’s wish to sign the player, they bring a totally different take on the situation.

They say Southampton are completely fine with keeping Gabbiadini in the squad, and don’t have any plans to sell him anytime soon. That’s why there’s no price set for now.

They also say that although Sampdoria would like to sign the player, there have been no contact with Saints or Gabbiadini’s agent so far.

Other Italian sides such as Milan and Fiorentina are also said to be interested in the forward, who has a contract with the Premier League side running until 2021.
