As we approach the January transfer window, many are wondering what steps Tottenham will take this year.
Spurs were very successful in their last winter break, managing to secure the signings of both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.
Both have been successes for Tottenham, and Fabio Paratici could strike again in that regard, with Sofyan Amrabat seen as a great option to strengthen the heart of the squad.
The Morocco international is someone the London side were already interested in in the past, and his performances during the 2022 World Cup have shown the rest of the world why that was the case.
Still, Fiorentina aren’t overly keen to part ways with their star midway through the campaign, which is why it will be hard to do it.
Gazzetta dello Sport cover the situation on Thursday, explaining that both Conte and Liverpool are ‘in pole position’ in the queue of suitors.
They further add that Tottenham are ‘chasing’ the midfielder, before pointing out ‘there is also competition from La Liga’, where Sevilla and Atlético Madrid are lurking.
Regarding a fee, the value is reportedly a relatively affordable €40m, ‘if not €45m’, but that will entirely depend on whether Fiorentina can be swayed.
Amrabat, down his end, wants to play in the Champions League going forward, which Tottenham can offer him, and it remains to be seen if he will push for a transfer in the coming weeks when the January transfer window opens.
