Tottenham Hotspur are not willing to give up on Nicolò Zaniolo as they continue to pursue the AS Roma star.

Antonio Conte’s hesitation about the winger has been removed after last weekend’s pre-season friendly tie against the Serie A side.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who add the 21-year-old’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, has held talks with Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici and Tiago Pinto, his Giallorossi counterpart.

The north London club’s idea is to reduce the Italy international’s price tag below €50m by including some of their players as part of the deal. Conte’s ‘craze’ for his compatriot ‘can be unbearable’ for his own executives, as the manager pushes for the transfer to happen.

Gazzetta dello Sport state early signs during pre-season show Zaniolo is increasingly on the road to full recovery after two serious knee injuries.

Meanwhile, Roma’s budgetary needs and Spurs ‘pressing’ to sign their star could encourage things to happen. Conte wants Zaniolo and after the tie in Israel, several Spurs players have asked him to join them in London.

José Mourinho’s side won’t be against the attacker’s sale if they are to receive an offer worth €50m, lower than the €60m previously claimed. The Premier League side plan to reach this figure by offering the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso to Roma.

The UEFA Conference League winners will have a ‘summit with Spurs’ as early as next week, when negotiations for Zaniolo and Tottenham players will take place on two separate levels.

Conte’s side want to accelerate the deal for the Italian because they believe he can make the difference for them, operating as a forward or as a midfielder.

In the event Tottenham fail to find an agreement with Mourinho’s side, then the latter will discuss Zaniolo’s renewal from September.
