Over at Bild in Germany, there’s a lot of excitement following the news that Tottenham could end up going after Julian Nagelsmann.
That’s because despite being relieved of his duties by Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga side would still be owed compensation should their former manager take up another job this season.
It’s stated that Tottenham ‘would have to pay a transfer fee’ to the German giants if the 35-year-old commits ‘this season’ to a new club.
Now, there has been talk that Critian Stellini could steer the Spurs ship until the end of the season, but regardless of whether they have to pay or not, there is some good news for the London side.
That’s because before he went to Bayern, Nagelsmann’s management and the man himself ‘had worked out a career plan’, and that accommodated an ‘intermediate’ step before he took on a big job like the one he ended up landing in Munich.
And ‘one of the clubs on this list’ that the German manager ‘found attractive’ was Tottenham, as he ‘would be tempted’ to test himself against some of the best in the world, such as Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp.
Therefore, he could very well still be tempted going forward, but a lot will depend on his state of mind right now after his dismissal.
Whether he wants to take a small break remains to be seen, but it’s clear that if Spurs did come forward, he seemingly would consider them.
