Juan Cuadrado signed for Juventus on a three-year loan with an option to buy during the last transfer window.
The Colombian has struggled to get games since returning to Juventus in the summer, but has now started the last three matches for the Serie A champions.
According to Italian website Calciomercato, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wanted to keep the 28-year-old at the club, but he was adamant on returning to Juventus.
Eventually, Conte had to let him go, and now the Italian allegedly regrets his decision due to lack of options at Chelsea. The West London side have lacked depth in the wide positions this season, which would have been helped if Cuadrado had remained in England.
Calciomercato say Juventus are paying €5m/season as a loan fee, and should pay another €10m to make it permanent, which can also be triggered once the Colombian makes a number of appearances.
The Italian website feel Conte and Chelsea made a poor decision to let Juan Cuadrado leave after Mohamed Salah’s similar departure to AS Roma.
