On Tuesday, Gazzetta dello Sport explained Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini has ‘captured the attention’ of Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old’s development at the Serie A side has caught the attention of several clubs.
Following Antonio Conte’s arrival in 2021, Tottenham have looked to Italy in the last two transfer windows.
As Spurs continue to work on securing the manager’s long-term future, InterLive.it state Conte has ‘only one goal in mind’ and it is to get his hands on a few players.
If the ex-Chelsea manager were to continue at Tottenham beyond this season, he could ‘ask for not one, but two’ centre-backs. This is when both Scalvini and Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni are mentioned, as the duo are in the north London club’s sights.
Should the 53-year-old decide to sign an extension, the English side would ‘eventually attack’ to sign the aforementioned two players. Spurs would need around €95m to sign the duo.
It’s claimed a fee of €40m is needed to sign Scalvini and €55m to get Bastoni away from the San Siro.
To sum it up, the possibility of Spurs going on the ‘attack’ to sign both the players will largely depend on Conte signing a new deal at the club.
