Now returned to Arsenal from his successful loan to Stade de Reims, Folarin Balogun patiently awaits for his future to be resolved.
He’s already made it clear he doesn’t want to go out on loan again, giving Mikel Arteta just two choices: either sell him or play him regularly this season.
Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport are fully aware of this, as are Inter Milan, who want a new striker in their squad after putting an end to their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.
That’s why both newspapers have articles about the Italians wanting the Arsenal striker, who represents, alongside Alvaro Morata, one of two priority targets.
Gazzetta dello Sport explain that the Gunners have ‘too much abundance’ up top to accommodate the 22-year-old, and that’s why the London club have ‘decided to deprive themselves of him, preferably outright’, meaning they want a full sale.
‘First contacts’ have already taken place between Inter and Arsenal, as the Italians ‘verified both the price and the possibility of using the loan formula with obligation’ to buy.
Right now, ‘there are no openings’ from Arsenal’s end regarding that particular deal, but ‘contacts will continue’ since Inter have ‘fallen in love’ with the youngster.
Corriere seem to be a bit behind their counterparts, and while ‘many have literally been conquered’ by his ability in front of goal, he is expensive, and would cost ‘about €40m’.
That’s why they need to work out if a deal is feasible, stating ‘contacts will be initiated’, suggesting, unlike what Gazzetta said, there haven’t been any to date.
