If you were hoping for any transfer story involving Turkish teams to disappear on September 1st, you are sorely mistaken, as the window for clubs to conduct transfers in Turkey closes on September 15th.
This could prove to be both beneficiary for them and a pain in the backside for teams such as Tottenham, who have players wanted by sides in the Süper Lig.
Tanguy Ndombélé is one such case, as the Frenchman is a target for Galatasaray, and has been for quite some time now, as recalled by Sabah.
The midfielder is unwanted at Tottenham, but the London club is finding it hard to find a club willing to pay an actual transfer fee that meets their requests to date.
That’s why Galatasaray are willing to play the long game when it comes to Ndombélé, as Sabah explain that the club have so far just made ‘a loan with option’.
They have ‘waited for the response’, but it seems nothing has come of it, and it’s made clear that ‘after September 1st, contacts will accelerate’.
Therefore, if you thought this would be over come the end of the week, it won’t be, and there’s a good chance you’ll be hearing Ndombélé’s name for a good fortnight after that.
