Paul Pogba’s contract at Manchester United expires in June and without a renewal with the Red Devils, he can leave Old Trafford as a free agent, for the second time in his career.
Last week, IlBiancoNero reported the midfielder’s ‘will is clear’, to leave United and rejoin Juventus.
Juve’s management have ‘never really abandoned the idea’ of bringing their former player back to the club, according to Calciomercato. The 28-year-old has been in regular contact with his old teammates and these ‘contacts’ have ‘intensified’ in recent days.
There’s also been contacts with Real Madrid, but Los Blancos’ priority is to bolster their attack. In addition to this, the France international’s great admirer, Zinedine Zidane, is no longer with the La Liga side.
Zidane could return to management, if Paris Saint-Germain appoint him as their manager for next season. PSG are also in ‘full swing’ to sign the United star. He currently earns €15m per year and these figures are easier for PSG to match than the Old Lady.
Juve wanting Pogba is also discussed by Tutto Juve. They explain the World Cup winner ‘would like to return’ to his old club, but two conditions are needed to conclude the deal.
The first one is that Pogba accepts to take a pay cut, by agreeing to a four-year contract worth €9m per year, excluding bonuses.
Juve must sell Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, and save €14m in wages annually. This is the second condition.
With two sources discussing the possibility of Pogba returning to Juve, a financial effort must be done from both parties for the operation to take shape.
