At 26 years of age, Michy Batshuayi probably needs to take the next step in his career.

The striker has long been a bit-part player at Chelsea, mixed between time at Stamford Bridge and away from the club on loan. This summer an exit is expected again, and TMW report Atalanta are keen on the Belgium international.

Juventus are also credited with an interest, but it’s the Bergamo club which gets the most attention from TMW. They say ‘contacts are in progress’, but don’t make it clear whether that’s between the two clubs or Atalanta and Batshuayi’s agents.

Despite his relatively big wages, salary isn’t thought to be an ‘insurmountable obstacle’ for the Serie A club. The report suggests that Chelsea could even extend his contract, loan him out to Atalanta, and still pay a percentage of his wages.

That doesn’t sound like a great deal for the Premier League club, and it’s surely likelier they’ll be looking to edge him out on a permanent transfer before the summer window closes.
