Much like Moussa Dembélé before him, Odsonne Édouard has taken to the Scottish Premiership like a duck to water and attracted interest with his performances at Celtic.

Scoring 21 goals and assisting another 12 in 27 league games, the forward has shown exactly why the scouting team saw him as his compatriot’s successor, and when he is sold, he will allow the club to make a very healthy profit on their initial £9m expenditure.

We’ve already seen the 22-year-old being sent to the Premier League or even back to France, but the latest club to join the mix is none other than Borussia Dortmund, who tend to have a soft spot for young and talented footballers.

Giving players the ideal platform to showcase their ability at a greater level, the Bundesliga side are reported by Le10 Sport as being ‘hotly interested’ (that’s a very literal translation) in the France U21 international.

Not only that, but ‘contacts are already underway with the player’s entourage’.

It’s stated the 22-year-old, with two years left on his contract at Celtic could be one of the ‘nice coups of the summer’, having the ‘perfect profile to break everything in Germany’, much like Alassane Pléa and Marcus Thuram have done at Borussia Mönchengladbach since making the switch.

One to keep an eye on, but we are readying ourselves for a busy summer when it comes to Édouard, and this feels like just the beginning.
