Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy about AS Roma’s interest in Wolves’ David Møller Wolfe.
Gian Piero Gasperini has Konstantinos Tsimikas as one of the left backs at his disposal. He is on loan from Liverpool, and Arne Slot’s side could recall him in the winter market.
The situation has seen the Serie A side look at options, and the Wolves player is in their list.
VG in Norway relay the Italian claims of Roma looking at the 23-year-old and then provide their own take. They claim the Giallorossi’s ‘interest is real’, but they haven’t sent an offer to Wolves so far.
The Norway international has made 16 appearances this season and even contributed five [two goals and three assists] goals. The Premier League side have struggled this season as they are bottom of the table.
Wolves parted ways with Vítor Pereira and appointed Rob Edwards as his successor in November. Wolfe featured regularly under the latter but lost prominence in recent weeks.
The fullback has made only one start since Christmas, and it was in Wolves’ 6-1 FA Cup win over Shrewsbury Town.
The manager’s decision not to start him since December 20th can have an impact on his Molineux future. VG indicate his time at Wolves could come to an end in this window.
Roma aren’t the only club to have shown interest in the Wolves man as Beşiktaş are also in the picture. That’s according to Fotomaç.
They report the Turkish club are working on signing a new left-back in January. Beşiktaş are looking at other options after failing to sign Lazio’s Nuno Tavares. Wolfe is as an alternative.
Fotomaç state the Black Eagles’ official have made official contact to try and sign Wolfe. It’s not clear whether they approached Wolves, his camp or both.
The two club battle can certainly help Wolves get a better deal.
