The Italian media today has some good news for Arsenal fans who hope that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic joins the Gunners.

As Radiosei featured a conversation with Repubblica journalist Giulio Cardone, they approached the rumours about the Lazio midfielder’s potential move to the Emirates Stadium.

It turns out the reporter ended up claiming that despite Arsenal’s failed attempts to sign Milinkovic-Savic in the past, the player may now have a fresh opinion about that transfer.

“The news is that the player has changed his opinion on the English club which already tried to approach him last summer. If a fair proposal were to arrive this time, he would consider it,” Giulio Cardone told Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).

“Today the Gunners are dominating the Premier League, they will go to the Champions League, they have started a fascinating project, they have acquired a different appeal. Agent Kezman has been probing various clubs for some time to then bring offers to Lazio.

“In the summer he had garnered serious interest from the London club and Newcastle. Situations declined, but things could change next summer. It will be an important push and pull.”

Milinkovic-Savic’s transfer to Arsenal is a rumour which has been gaining strength in the Italian media in the past few days.

Just today, we’ve seen newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming that the Gunners are leading the race for his signing, with Corriere Dello Sport also highlighting the pursuit and claiming the London side are a ‘real option’ for the midfielder.

The player’s contract with Lazio expires in 2024, and with no agreement for a renewal, the Serie A side are now starting to work on a potential sale.

The Italian media believes his market value to currently be of around €50m.
