Yesterday, Italian newspaper Corriere di Verona reported Mario Balotelli has agreed to join Chievo.
Mario Balotelli, Mino Raiola, Luca Campedelli, Chievo’s president, and Luca Nember, Chievo’s sporting director, had a meeting to discuss the details of the transfer last Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Corriere di Verona seem to have a quick update on the transfer. It is reported Chievo Verona are waiting for Liverpool to give a green signal, after an agreement with Balotelli.
However, Corriere di Verona admit it’s ‘almost impossible’ for the Serie A club to sign Balotelli due to the financial conditions.
The Italian striker is reportedly earning €6m/season at Liverpool, and the Merseyside club want a minimum contribution of €2m/season from any club interested in signing him on loan. That sounds vaguely reasonable to us, especially if there’s no loan fee.
Corriere di Verona believe Ajax can pay such figures, but Balotelli remains a dream for Chievo.
Agent Mino Raiola should now be able to concentrate more on Balotelli, after completing Paul Pogba to Manchester United. Raiola took a well deserved break this week, and was pictured in Ibiza, chatting to Adriano Galliani, CEO of AC Milan.
