For the past few months, despite the many rumours on the future of Porto star Luis Diaz, it’s mostly been said that the 24-year-old would only leave the Dragons at the end of the season.
A different scenario, however, is today presented by newspaper Record, who comes up to say there are ‘very concrete possibilities’ that the player moves this month.
The outlet says his future will be in the Premier League, and among the English clubs who are interested, it’s Liverpool who are labelled as his ‘prime destination’.
With recent reports from the English media claiming the Reds are about to offer €72m for the winger, Record claims to have learned that Diaz could indeed leave Porto in case he represents a ‘record cash flow’ for the club.
The biggest profit the club ever made belongs to the sale of Eder Militão, who left for Real Madrid for €50m, so it’ll take convincing arguments to take him from the Dragons now.
Club president Pinto da Costa recently assured that the club will do their best to hold the stars, but pointed out there are offers that can’t be refused.
Record features a headline saying Diaz ‘drives Liverpool mad’, as despite the interest from clubs such as Manchester United and Newcastle, it seems it’s really the Reds who are the favourites for the signing.
