‘Cheaper than you think’. That’s how German outlet Sport Bild today describes Kai Havertz’s potential move from Chelsea to Real Madrid.
Their report claims the striker’s transfer is becoming ‘more and more concrete’, as his transfer to the La Liga giants could happen ‘quickly’.
Sport Bild claims the fee for the deal with Chelsea is around €60m, considered a ‘bargain’ for Real Madrid.
The story explains that the Blues spent far too much over the past year, and with them not qualifying for the Champions League next season, they now must balance their finances by making sales this summer.
Havertz is a big candidate to leave especially because of his salary, which, according to Sport Bild, is €20m per season.
The outlet sounds very optimistic about the deal, claiming it may take place soon, especially given the attackers who are leaving the Santiago Bernabéu this summer.
Chelsea spent €80m to sign Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2020. In three years with the Blues, he has 32 goals and 15 assists in 139 appearances, and will be remembered for the winning goal scored in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
