On Christmas Day, Le Parisien reported Crystal Palace have considerable interest in Angers SCO’s Sidiki Chérif.

On New Year’s Eve, we covered claims from France that Crystal Palace are serious about signing the 19-year-old. The Ligue 1 side would need over €25m in the winter market.

Bild pick up from that and mention Crystal Palace when covering the latest on Eintracht Frankfurt.

The German club are working on signing Elversberg’s Younes Ebnoutalib and Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo. They are looking to further bolster their attack in January and are focusing on Chérif.

Eintracht Frankfurt have made an offer to sign the Guinean on loan with an option to buy. Bild warn them to be wary of Crystal Palace as they could ‘intervene’ to snatch Chérif from the Bundesliga side’s clutches.

Oliver Glasner’s side and Paris FC want to sign the striker in this window. The latter have already made two offers and were rejected by their Ligue 1 counterpart.

According to Bild, Angers want around €30m with €25m in fixed fee for Chérif. This means they are unlikely to entertain Eintracht Frankfurt’s loan offer.

Angers manager Alexandre Dujeux has admitted Chérif could leave in January and Ouest-France have relayed his comments.

“With the offers we have, we expect Sidiki Chérif to leave. That’s how it is, I’ve accepted it,” he said.

“When? That’s another question. But he’s a very important player who will certainly leave us. It’s important for the long-term viability of the club. It’s not good news for me as the coach, but for the club, it’s essential.”
