Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal is almost sure to miss the upcoming clash with Manchester United in the Europa League.

That’s according to AS, who provide an update on the forward after reports earlier today that he had limped out of training.

Diario Vasco reported today that Oyarzabal had limped out of training today holding his thigh, which was causing concern at the club after he missed six games with an injury in that area recently.

A similar injury could see him miss both of the upcoming clashes with Manchester United, which would be a major blow to the Spanish side’s hopes.

AS now provide the details of the injury, saying Oyarzabal has suffered from ‘tendinopathy in the proximal insertion of the hamstring musculature of the right thigh’.

While not an ‘excessively serious ailment’, this means that he will definitely be missing form the weekend clash with Getafe in La Liga.

It also makes it ‘very difficult’ for him to feature against Manchester United next week, with the player now considered a ‘serious doubt’ for the game, depending on the evolution of the injury.

That suggests the player is facing a late fitness test on it, although the diagnosis at the moment is that he won’t be ready to play in the first-leg at least.
