Nottingham Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo has admitted he doesn’t know what will happen in the summer transfer window.

BILD have comments from the striker today. He’s currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, who have been chasing him for years.

They finally got a deal done this month after a miserable few months at Nottingham Forest. He joined them in the summer transfer window but barely featured under their three managers this season.

They allowed him to join Eintracht on loan this month. That deal includes an option for the deal to be made permanent in the summer transfer window. He’s already agreed personal terms ahead of that happening.

That was widely celebrated by Eintracht, who have been chasing his signature for over two years. They even competed with Nottingham Forest in the summer before being beaten by the Premier League side.

Whether the German side activate that clause, remains to be seen. Kalimuendo has made a positive start to life at the club, but there is turmoil around him. The Bundesliga side have just sacked manager Dino Toppmöller. His replacement may have other ideas that don’t include Kalimuendo moving forwards.

It’s a situation that will be resolved in the coming months. For now, he’s not sure what the future will hold.

“It’s always a complex situation,” he said.

“It’s also not in my hands. What I can do now is simply help the team on the pitch, perform, score goals, and provide assists.

“I know it could have worked out in the past, but better late than never. I wanted more playing time and knew that Eintracht had been watching me for a while. When they came back in December, I was interested.”
