Shakhtar Donetsk are keen on signing West Ham United’s Luis Guilherme, according to a report.
The Ukrainian transfer window remains open until March 11th, and it gives Shakhtar Donetsk an opportunity to sign the 19-year-old.
Journalist Mikhail Spivakovskiy has found out from sources close to Shakhtar Donetsk about their desire to secure the West Ham player’s services. He provided an updated on TaToTake and his comments are relayed by Fanday.
Recent claims have talked about a swap deal involving the West Ham player and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Georgiy Sudakov. Spivakovskiy has wasted no time to rule this out.
“According to my sources close to Shakhtar, the story about the swap is complete nonsense,” he said.
The Ukrainian club, however, still maintain an interest in the Brazilian, and Spivakovskiy shared more on this.
Guilherme arrived at West Ham from Palmeiras in June 2024 and has struggled for regular game time so far. To put it in context, the winger played 55 minutes from seven games for the Hammers and Shakhtar Donetsk could offer him an escape route.
According to the journalist, the operation is complicated for Shakhtar Donetsk because the player doesn’t seem to be keen on moving to Ukraine.
“As for Luis Guilherme, the negotiations are ongoing, although they are very difficult. The agent and the player himself do not understand what motivation to go from the Premier League to UPL,” Spivakovskiy explained.
