The story of Luis Diaz’s transfer from Junior Barranquilla to Cardiff City has been building for over a month now.
Since the rumours in Colombia started, his agent has confirmed that the Premier League side are following him, and even a bid of £6m was reported by the local media.
But things get a new level now, since the player himself has revealed there’s an agreement between the clubs.
Interviewed by Caracol Radio on Friday, the Colombian winger claimed there’s a deal for his move to Cardiff City, even though he still hasn’t accepted it.
“Yes, there is already a pre-agreement, but I still have not said anything to them, nothing to the leaders that I agree with and that I’m going to go,” Diaz told Caracol Radio (via AS).
“Let’s say there is an agreement between clubs, but I’m still holding back. I told them that I am determined to go, but I am calm and I want to do things well. If the possibility is given, it would be good.”
Even though Diaz has insisted that he hasn’t agreed with the personal terms yet, he was still asked if he’s already traveled to Cardiff, but claimed once again that things are far from done.
“No, I have not yet submitted any medical exams. Junior had a talk, which is a preliminary agreement and nothing has been confirmed, the proposal was put in place and I have not yet traveled there.”
Diaz featured in Colombia’s friendly against South Korea this week, and managed to score his first goal for the national team.
