Real Valladolid are keen on a deal for Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri this summer, with manager Paulo Pezzonalo going public in his desire to sign him.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who cover comments from the Valladolid manager today as he steps up his efforts to get the Uruguayan.
The newspaper explains that while Pellistri is currently playing at the Copa América with his country, there are movements regarding his situation at club level.
He’s struggled to impress at Manchester United since joining them in 2020 but still has suitors on the market, particularly after spells out on loan in La Liga.
Valladolid are one of the sides interested in him and are ‘pushing to obtain his services’ this summer as everything indicates Manchester United will be willing to give him a permanent exit this summer.
The Spanish side have already called those in charge at Old Trafford over at transfer, but part of their strategy also involved ‘publicly declaring love’ for the player to anyone who will listen.
And that is exactly what Pezzonalo has done, recently speaking to Carve Deportiva in Uruguay regarding the winger and making it clear he’d love to sign him from Manchester United this summer.
“He would be a very important player,” he said.
“We talked about many names (with the sports management) and one of them, without a doubt, is him. I think it could benefit him a lot to be with us, although there are financial details that can or cannot be given.
“We know that it is not easy for us. I love him, but I have not dared to call him because I want him to give his best with the national team, although I suppose his representative will have sent it to him.
“Arriving at a team like ours in the preseason, adapting well to the group, knowing that he comes to an intense, dynamic, vertical team when he goes outside… He can show off a lot when stepping into the area.”
