Former Austria international Franz Schiemer ‘ended his work’ at Leeds United when Jesse Marsch was sacked at the beginning of February.
That’s according to Krone, who say the coach has confirmed his departure from Elland Road at Austria’s training camp in Windischgarsten.
They explain that Schiemer had been Marsch’s assistant manager at Leeds since his arrival last year, although that turned into an ‘external coach and advisor’ role this season.
He had served as Marsch’s assistant in Salzburg from 2019 to 2021 and was brought with him to England but Leeds elected for a clean sweep when Marsch was sacked and his deal was ‘also terminated’.
That has not brought an end to his association with the Whites, though. Schiemer has since set up his own business working alongside players on a personal basis and one of those he is currently working with is Leeds United defender Maximilian Wöber.
Schiemer is working alongside him and several other players and while the nature of his role isn’t made clear, it is stated that it includes ‘video analysis’.
Either way, it seems he is no longer associated to Leeds directly, who elected to bring their relationship with him to and when they removed Marsch from the hotseat.
