Over the past few days, there have been a number of updates regarding the future of Morgan Sanson, currently out of favour at Aston Villa.
Bought from Marseille, the midfielder has hardly played since moving to Villa Park, and while the arrival of Unai Emery has helped the tiniest of bits, it’s still clear the Frenchman’s future is elsewhere.
After hope that Montpellier could make a move, it appears Strasbourg are the ones leading the pack at this moment in time, with Alsa’Sports providing an update.
They state on Thursday that the Ligue 1 side are still prioritising the arrival of a left-back, but also want a midfielder to make up for the fact Adrien Thomasson went to Lens.
Sanson could be that man, while they are also looking at Jessy Deminguet, but it’s made clear that they are not ‘abandoning’ the idea of signing the Aston Villa flop.
It’s just that the talks have ‘only just begun’, and considering it would be for a loan that would likely see the English club take on a chunk of the wages, it could take some time to sort out.
