Trabzonspor are eyeing up a move for Watford defender Kiko Femenía when his contract at Vicarage Road expires in the summer.

That’s according to Karadeniz Gazete, who say the Spaniard has been extensively scouted by the Turkish side ahead of a possible transfer.

The website explains that Trabzonspor are trying to find an upgrade for their right-back position, and their scouts have been hard at work to find the right player.

According to sources close to the club, that man could be Femenía, who the scouting team have identified as a possible addition.

He’s out of contract at Watford in the summer, and Trabzonspor’s scouting team have watched him ‘many times’ and already ‘recommended’ him to coach Abdullah Avci.

If he approves the transfer, then the club plan to ‘step up contacts’ with the Spanish right-back and his agent ahead of a possible move.

That’s yet to happen, with the Spaniard having been a regular for Watford this season, racking up 34 appearances in the Championship so far.

They, though, are yet to look to extend his four-year stay at the club, and Trabzonspor are ready to offer him the move to Turkey if Avci approves of the potential deal.
