A few weeks ago, the Brazilian media reported that Flamengo were interested in signing Alex Telles from Manchester United.
Even though that rumour went quiet recently, it turns out that this weekend, a couple of local outlets come up to back up the information.
One of the stories comes from O Globo. It’s claimed that Flamengo are worried about losing Ayrton Lucas, and with Felipe Luís now 37-years-old, manager Jorge Sampaoli wants a new player for the position.
Alex Telles is then said to be a ‘target’ for the Rio de Janeiro side, although there’s no information on potential talks with Manchester United.
Meanwhile, journalist Jorge Nicola also comes up to say that the left-back is being targeted by the Brazilian club.
According to his information, even though Telles has a market value of €7.5m, Flamengo want to convince Manchester United to accept less than that.
The chase seems to be in the very initial stages, so there isn’t even any information on how much the Red Devils want for the sale.
Telles has a contract with Manchester United until 2024, with an option for an extra year. He spent last season on loan at Sevilla.
