Everton have had Rodrigo Becão on their radar since the summer window and continue to keep tabs on the Udinese star.
Last Tuesday, Tutto Udinese reported the Toffees are willing to make an offer to secure the 26-year-old’s services.
Messaggero Veneto detail Udinese’s plans for the centre-back’s future and also mention Everton in their report.
The Brazilian’s deal expires in 2024 and he’s been rejecting renewal offers from the Serie A side since October. This could probably be because he has already received tempting offers in the summer.
For Udinese, a ‘pact is needed’ with Becão to resolve his contract situation, considering he has the ‘most market’, which is shown by interest from Frank Lampard’s side, Tottenham and Inter Milan. His chances to move elsewhere in 2023 could be blocked by signing an extension.
On the other hand, the player could renew his deal with Udinese and also get himself a transfer. This is possible if the Italian club ‘promise to sell’ the Toffees target for a fixed fee [€15m-20m]. If this were to happen, the South American will be in a position to pick the best offer he has when deciding his next club.
According to Messaggero Veneto, this pact seems to be the best option. To execute this, Becão will be assisted by his representative and Gino Pozzo’s right hand man, Luciano Ramalho.
The latter will have to negotiate a fixed price with the Udinese owner. If the two parties can find an agreement, Becão can sign a new deal at Udinese.
This possibility should not put off Everton since they will be in a position to take Becão for a fixed price in the coming windows.
