Napoli’s interest in Brighton’s Billy Gilmour has been a little mini-saga this week. Yesterday, we covered Gazzetta dello Sport’s report about how the player has asked to leave Brighton so he can sign for the Serie A club.
There are now more updates emerging about the situation of the midfielder, with Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo stating that Napoli’s next offer for Gilmour will be €2m more than the €10m that was offered in the first bid. There will also be bonuses added to that.
The journalist states the structure of the second offer ‘should satisfy’ Brighton and that Napoli are growing increasingly optimistic about signing the ex-Chelsea man.
Napoli’s goal is to close the deal quickly and club sporting director Giovanni Manna is masterminding things
Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that the offer also depends on selling at least one of Jens Cajuste or Gianluca Gaetano.
We’re still not entirely convinced that Napoli’s offer will be enough for Brighton, despite the growing optimism in the Italian media.
