Celtic have given Bologna permission to speak to Roco Vata after negotiations between the two clubs proved fruitful.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who says the negotiations for the player ‘come to life’ and he could now be set to leave Brendan Rodgers and Celtic.
A report earlier today indicated that Bologna had been in contact with Celtic about a move for the youngster, looking to discover the possible margins for a deal.
That report explained that Bologna had a ‘pawn’ in their arsenal to try and get Vata in the form of Sydney van Hooijdonk, who they could offer to Celtic in exchange.
It was suggested the deal could be held off until next week as they planned to use Van Hooijdonk, but Di Marzio now reports that things are speeding up.
According to him, Bologna’s negotiations with Celtic for Vata have ‘come to life’ and the Scottish club have authorised the Italian side to speak with the player.
There is no mention of a potential transfer fee at this point, or even if Vata is interested in the move at this moment in time, but Celtic have opened the door for the transfer to take place this month.
