AC Milan have identified Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Saša Kalajdžić as a new striker target, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Serie A have been left disappointed in their pursuit of FC Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and with Leonardo Colombo heading to AC Monza, the Rossoneri are looking for a new striker on deadline day.
It’s said Milan made a ‘last-ditch effort’ to sign the Wolves player but their approach was turned down by Gary O’Neil’s side as they ‘don’t want to sell’ the 26-year-old.
The Premier League side rejecting Milan’s ‘last minute attempt’ would force them to look for another striker target before the window closes later today.
Earlier this month, the Austria international hailed the Premier League as the “best league in the world” and also explained his desire to continue in England.
Kalajdžić joined Wolves from VfB Stuttgart last summer and suffered a serious knee injury in the first game for the English club, forcing him to miss 37 games last season. He has regained full fitness and scored two goals from three games this season.
