ESPN Mexico features this week a big piece on the next players from the country who should soon become targets for clubs from the Major League Soccer.
With the likes of Carlos Vela, Chicharito Hernandez and Giovani dos Santos unlikely to have a future in the United States, new Mexican stars could soon shine there.
And according to journalist Rafa Ramos, one of these players is Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez, even though that’s not happening anytime soon.
Following the complications from his head injury, the 29-year-old still needs to prove himself again for Wolves.
The report says the club have ‘reservations’ regarding his future and even asked the Mexican national team not to call him for the next games to allow him to continue his recovery.
Regarding the interest from the MLS, the story says Jimenez ‘led the list’ of targets for the clubs in the league, but following his incident, they are now expected to wait and ‘not bother him’ until the start of 2023.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese media has been claiming that Wolves are already looking for strikers.
The club are said to be interested in the signing of Benfica’s Carlos Vinícius, as they want a back-up plan in case Jimenez isn’t able to get back to his old, scintillating form.
