Rayan Aït-Nouri came off the bench and scored in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ EFL Cup win over Gillingham and also in their league victory against Everton in December.
Despite scoring twice, Julen Lopetegui picked Hugo Bueno ahead of Aït-Nouri for the left-back spot against Manchester United.
The 21-year-old had lost his place to Bueno prior to the World Cup and this led to reports of a potential exit from Wolves in January.
On Tuesday, L’Equipe stated Sevilla are interested to sign Aït-Nouri after his agent, Jorge Mendes, opened the door for him to leave the Premier League side.
The Wolves player is ‘not the profile’ Monchi & co are currently looking at since Aït-Nouri is mainly used as a left-back.
Despite insisting Aït-Nouri’s profile doesn’t fit Sevilla’s requirements, Estadio Deportivo add nothing should be ruled out because of Mendes’ involvement, but the Wolves fullback seems more of an option for the Spanish club next summer than in the current window.
Wolves take on Aston Villa later today and it will be interesting to see whether Lopetegui will continue to rely on Bueno or replace him with Aït-Nouri in the starting lineup.
