Sevilla’s interest in Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has ‘cooled down’ significantly in the last few days as the player is wary of joining the Spanish side.
That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who say the ‘bad sporting situation’ of Sevilla has turned the Tottenham man away from a possible move.
They explain that Sevilla’s management are on the hunt for an ‘agile, strong and vertical player’ who Is capable of brining quality to their midfield and Sarr was one of the names they were ‘considering’.
However, their current situation, which sees them sitting in the bottom three of La Liga and a point from safety.
That is proving a major negative for the club’s efforts to sign players, as it is ‘not the most attractive’ aspect to try and sell to potential recruits.
It’s one of the arguments that Sarr in particular ‘values’ as he believes there are other clubs interested who could offer him a ‘better context’ if he is to move away from Tottenham. Indeed, he already has other proposals ‘on the table’.
Thus, if things do not take a turn for the better at Sevilla he will head elsewhere, and ‘everything indicates’ at this point in time that he will not be joining the Spanish side from Tottenham as expected.
The situation can always change in the coming weeks but for now it seems Sarr is turning away from the idea and looking at his other options.
