We recently covered a report from Il Messaggero which explained Lazio’s move for Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham is a ‘complex’ affair. Despite that complexity, it doesn’t seem as if the potential approach is off the table.
The teenager scored seven times in the Championship last season in what was his first campaign for Sunderland since joining from Birmingham City.
La Lazio Siamo Noi have reported on the 18-year-old’s situation, with him continuing to attract interest from Lazio.
It is reported that the Roman club’s interest is ‘still alive’ and Sunderland want a fee of around €15m for the player.
For Lazio, the situation is currently on standby and the Biancocelesti could ‘return’ to pursue Bellingham in the next few weeks.
Lyon’s Rayan Cherki is also mentioned as a potential option for Lazio, but the French club’s asking price seems to be too high for them. Bellingham’s valuation is lower, making it a situation worth monitoring.
One to keep an eye on, but certainly a slow burner.
