Celta Vigo are very unlikely to be involve in the race for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to Moi Celeste, who are keen to pour cold water all over those claims despite Celta being thrown into the mix for him.
They report that, first and foremost, if the other names mentioned with an interest in Silva, such as Sevilla, Wolfsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and Atletico Madrid are in the mix, then Celta Vigo can absolutely ‘say goodbye’ to the signing. They simply couldn’t compete with competition such as that.
While there’s a deal to be one as Wolves accept, they won’t get their €40m back, particularly with Silva in the final year of his deal, the Spanish side are unlikely to be in the mix.
The only option they would realistically have is a loan deal, but that would be ‘quite absurd’ for Wolves to sanction given his contract situation.
They’ll be trying to cash in to minimalise their losses, even if it is unlikely that anyone will pay more than €15m for him. Even at that price, its ‘impossible’ for the Vigo club to get him.
Thus, any reports about their interest can be dismissed, with a growing list of suitors for Silva now regularly being pruned by various club-based media, who are refusing to let their side be used in the obvious transfer game being played.
