On September 13th, we carried a report from Tuttosport, who claimed that AC Milan would be after Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey.

His contract with the north London club runs down after the end of the season and so far the midfielder has not committed to a new deal with the English side.

Calciomercato claims the 27-year-old has long been on the radar of the Rossoneri and the idea of signing him could become ‘more than concrete’.

The Welshman is earning €6-€6.5m-a-year with his current employer and the report suggests he is demanding his annual salary be increased to €8m in order to sign an extension. A failure from Arsenal to tie down the player before the end of this year will allow him sign a pre-contract with a new club.

Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis has agreed to join the Serie A outfit from December 1st, a month after leaving his current position at the Emirates. It’s claimed that Ramsey is not an immediate priority for Milan, but their incoming CEO is an admirer of the midfielder, even though there has been no contact with his camp.

For now, the San Siro outfit will continue to monitor his situation at Arsenal as their hope is to sign Ramsey on a free transfer next summer, but this is starting to pick up pace.
