Rafa Mújica has not yet made an appearance for Leeds United in a competitive fixture since swapping Barcelona for the Whites in 2019.

The Premier League side have allowed the forward to spend the last 18 months on loan at Extremadura, Villarreal B and Real Oviedo. He joined the latter on a season-long loan deal in the last window.

Mújica has hardly had any prominence with the second division Spanish side this season and has been given 50 minutes of action in the league, across four matches.

José Ángel Ziganda hasn’t relied on the Leeds owned player and has handed him only one start, which came in the Copa del Rey clash against CD Coria, when Mújica scored a brace in Oviedo’s 3-2 win.

The 22-year-old is unlikely to finish the season with the La Liga 2 side, if a report from AS is to be believed.

It’s claimed Real Oviedo are handling the names of the two players who could be allowed to leave in the winter market, and it includes Mújica and Giorgi Aburjania. The duo are not included in Ziganda’s plans.

According to the report, the ‘idea’ of the Spanish side is to ‘cancel’ the attacker’s loan deal with Leeds, and reach an agreement with Aburjania to allow him to leave the club next month.

Mújica has been on the move in the last three transfer windows, and with Real Oviedo looking to cut short his loan stay, he could be looking for a new club again in January.
