Cadiz will look to ‘break’ their agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion and send Florin Andone back to the club.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the Spanish club need to get rid of Andone, so they enjoy more ‘liquidity’ in their budget and sign another striker this month.
Andone has been on loan with the Spanish club since the summer but has barely featured for them, with the signing labelled a disaster in Spain.
There have been reports for months that they will look to get rid of him in January as a result, with Cadiz president Manuel Vizcaíno confirming as much last month.
Those comments came alongside reports that the loan from Brighton will be terminated, but it seems there is no agreement in place as yet.
Estadio say that ‘the idea’ is to ‘break’ Andone’s loan contract, so that the striker will be ‘sent back to Brighton’ before the end of this month.
That suggests the Spanish club are yet to actually hold any contacts with the Seagulls to make that happen.
Whether Brighton will actually sanction an early termination remains to be seen. On the one hand, it makes no sense for them to have a player at a club and not playing, but on the other, they don’t want Andone either.
It’s clear that negotiations are needed, but Cadiz couldn’t have made it clearer what their stance is.
