Hertha Berlin youngster Boris Lum is on Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer agenda, according to a report from Germany.
The 16-year-old was initially promoted to the German club’s U17 side in January 2023 before getting opportunities to represent their U19s last season. His development has seen him train with the first team, under Cristian Fiél’s orders.
Bild say Hertha Berlin’s entire coaching staff have been ‘amazed’ by the defensive midfielder’s qualities. Fiél claims he did “really well” in training, and it’s possible that Lum could at least train with the senior team more often.
At the same time, Hertha Berlin’s ‘greatest academy talent’ has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, including Tottenham.
It’s claimed the the Germany U17 international isn’t only on Spurs’ wish list, but he has met them ‘three times for talks’. He has also visited their training facilities and watched the north London club live in action, most likely last season.
As well as Ange Postecoglou’s side, Bayern Munich, Ajax and Manchester City have the youngster on their radar.
Bild say Lum has a €5m release clause in a contract that lasts until 2026. Tottenham or another club can sign him this summer by activating his clause.
