Borussia Dortmund’s cunning plan to revalue Giovanni Reyna at Nottingham Forest has failed miserably and he will be returning in the summer.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the American’s loan deal has essentially been a disaster and not what anyone was looking for.
They explain that those in charge at Dortmund had planned to loan Reyna to Nottingham Forest in January so that he could revalue himself in England after falling out of favour in Germany.
However, Reyna ‘hardly gets a chance’ in the Premier League and is, at best, a ‘joker’ in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad. In other words, he’s nothing more than a substitute.
Thus, the plan to revalue him in England has gone completely wrong as they had wanted to brin him back in the summer and then sell him at a high price.
Instead, it seems he’ll be returning to Dortmund, and they’ll assess what’s possible, with another loan potentially in the pipeline.
Of course, there’s still time for things to be turned around at Nottingham Forest before the end of the season, but the likelihood of that happening is low given what’s happened so far.
