Aston Villa loanee Philippe Coutinho isn’t all forgotten at Qatari side Al-Duhail.
According to reports today, the 31-year-old is now wanted by his former club Vasco da Gama.
Sport writes that the Brazilian side are ‘thinking’ of his signing as there’s ‘more insistence’ they can get him to move back to his home country in not so distant future.
There are no advanced talks, though, as it’s said Vasco’s negotiations to take Coutinho out of Aston Villa are ‘still at an embryonic stage’.
The Rio de Janeiro side also know it ‘will not be easy’ to convince the English club of agreeing a deal.
The midfielder is loaned to Al-Duhail until the next summer, and so far, he has three goals and one assist in six appearances for the Qatari side, meaning that in case Vasco want him signed now, they would not only need the green light from Aston Villa, but also from his current club.
The Villans spent €20m to get Coutinho signed from Barcelona, and Sport points out that 50% from the profit of a future sale would go to the Catalan side.
However, judging by how much Brazilian clubs can pay, Vasco certainly wouldn’t be spending more than that.
