Following the sale of Sébastien Haller to Ajax, the rumours regarding West Ham’s search for a new striker have gone into overdrive.
Every goalscorer and their socially distancing grandmother has been linked with a move to London Stadium these days, among which is Boulaye Dia.
The Stade de Reims striker has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 club, scoring 12 goals in 17 league games so far this season, and with an exit pass to leave should the right offer come in, he makes a lot of sense.
The price has been set at around €15m, but it was reported on Wednesday the Hammers were set to make their first offer at around €10m.
That, however, has yet to arrive, according to RMC Sport, who make it clear Reims haven’t received a ‘written offer’ from any club for their star forward.
This doesn’t mean the interest isn’t there, though, as they continue by revealing ‘negotiations are underway between the two clubs via the intermediary Willie McKay, mandated for this deal’.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this.
