Club would hope to sign Manchester United player in dream scenario – Seems like a rubbish deal for Red Devils

Manchester United’s signing of Matthijs de Ligt means that one defender can leave this summer, and that player is likely to be Victor Lindelof.

The Swedish defender’s current deal at Manchester United runs out in the summer of 2025 and that is why an exit this summer would be sensible for the club.

There is some interest from Fiorentina and Corriere Fiorentina have reported there’s an obstacle holding back La Viola from moving for the defender.

Salary is an issue and a move to Fiorentina would be easier if the Red Devils pay the Swedish defender a severance package and tear up his deal

As a result, Lindelof could sign for the Serie A side for free and this could make sure that joining Fiorentina could become a ‘concrete possibility’.

Of course, whilst that may be a dream scenario for the Serie A club it’s hardly beneficial for Manchester United and the club will surely be looking for an actual transfer fee.
